hillsceneLIVE is a jam packed festival brimming with bold artists exploring risky ideas. We recommend arriving early and staying late to ensure you are able to participate, explore, witness and play with every aspect of the festival.

Day time programming:

DOORS OPEN 12:00PM - Acknowledgement of Country and welcome address at the bar.

12:00PM til LATE - A range of durational experiences, intimate performances, live music and large scale extravaganzas. Get in early and make sure you head to the bar for all the details.

WORKSHOPS (meet at Bar)
1.30pm Poetry Workshop:
Use the power of writing and the energy of the natural environment to tap into internal and external worlds with Justine Walsh (60mins)

6.00pm Workshop in Wellness: Become immersed in the present! The Contingent's Liam O'Grady - a trained Shiatsu Therapist and Yoga teacher - will lead you through a series of deceptively simple, guided exercises which draw directly from the ancient traditions of shiatsu, meditation, and play.​

What is it like to be an artist in Australia right now? These international artists have come from around the world, to be in Australia right now, living and creating art.
With Juan, Cheryl Ho and international members of the Contingent, and facilitated by Carla Barrios

4:30pm - Place, Kinship, Country
As artists we respond to where we live, our relationship to the land, and our society. We react to the cultural landscape and hold a mirror to what we find. This panel will unpack our relationship to this place.
With Aunty Janet, Luna Mrozik-Gawler and a contingent of the contingent, facilitated by Justine Walsh

Join the fabulous Kat Renehan for a fun and energetic hooping workshops for all levels of experience

4.00pm Site responsive workshop: Become immersed in the landscape. Physical theatre improvisors from the Contingent will take you through some of the processes they undertake when making their work. Open to all levels of fitness.

Art and extinction
We are in the midst of environmental crisis and we can’t go any further without talking about it! Join this panel of artists as they discuss how they tackle the big conversations around climate, extinction and care for the living world.

5:00pm Personal to Universal Stories
As artists we share our own lived experiences to create space for everyone to connect. Join this panel of artists that have shared their stories with you.

6:00PM I LOOK GOOD IN SHORT SHORTS // A hillsceneLIVE classic! Short improvised works by artists that have never worked together before.
7:00PM THE AFTER PARTY // Join us in getting deep in conversation, reflect on our experiences, enjoy some tunes and drink the bar dry.
