Cultural Leadership Opportunities
PRODUCER CALL OUT
After delivering 10 festivals since bursting onto the cultural landscape in 2014, hillsceneLIVE continues to grow and mature in 2021. We are seeking producers to join the Creative Leadership Committee, our non-hierarchical team that coordinates the program. We invite you to come on board as a Producer and strengthen the team with your unique awesomeness! We will learn together, sharing ideas and exploring new terrain to continue nurturing the beautiful beast that is hillsceneLIVE!
This program will foster excellent skills in festival management and cultural leadership through hands on creative experience and mentoring. And then these skills will be applied to administer, manage and shape the 2021 program culminating in a live art festival in a secret location in the Dandenong Ranges in November.
This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your leadership capacity within the arts, gain experience in curating and programming an arts festival, and connect with wider industry professionals.
Commitments
Attendance at a majority of monthly meetings (June - December, 2021)
Attendance at professional development activities
Approx. 4hr/week administrative work in the 8 weeks leading up to the festival date
Expectations
Be an advocate for the festival in the wider arts and cultural industry
Bring your flavour to the festival through your unique creative experiences and dreams
Support artists to develop their artistic practice and performance outcomes
Work collaboratively with the whole festival team in delivering this exciting event
This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your leadership capacity within the arts, gain experience in running a trailblazing arts festival, and connect with wider industry professionals. You will assist in curation, design and implementation of hsL, and be an integral part of the festival reaching (even surpassing!) its aims.
Benefits - what will you receive
Free attendance at any professional development activities run as a part of hsL
A stipend of $750
The chance to contribute to the development and implementation of festival activities
Mentoring and support from hillsceneLIVE Creative Leadership Committee
Introductions to industry leaders from some of Victoria’s most exciting and progressive cultural organisations and individuals
With innovative programming and artist-focused processes that feed a hungry community of creative risk-takers, hillsceneLIVE is a unique and bold festival. We look forward to having you on board!
