spring '14: people & place

We return, to a new place, with renewed energy, and ever-more attention to the offbeat.

Armed with loosely drawn map, audiences are sent out into the urban landscape of Belgrave in search of the weird and wonderful.

In shopping arcades
underground lairs
activated art spaces
roving through the street

We are met by artists who challenge our sense of place, location, and ask us: what is it to belong somewhere?

In June we held hands in the name of experimental art, today we walk alongside each other.

See Jen's reflections here.

hillsceneLIVE acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia, on which we live, create, and play. We acknowledge the long history of performance and art making that is embedded in the Dandenong Ranges and the in history of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was. Always will be. Aboriginal land.
